  The food was excellent. We made a reservation & called to let them know we were running late & still had no wait time. Our waiter was fantastic. My only complaint is that our chef didn't give much of a show & that's half the point of going to a restaurant like Kanpai. We went tonight for our 4 year olds birthday, she requested "where they cook on the table" for her birthday dinner. She didn't know the difference, but we did. The manager only said that it was unusual for the chef to not put on a show. I would have been 100% satisfied if they'd sent someone to flip those wooden things, or set a smiley face on fire - anything at all, but he offered nothing. We will not go back to Kanpai.
